Nancy Mao is a Northern California attorney
who has practiced immigration and nationality law for well over a decade. Nancy handles a variety of family-based
immigration cases, as well as business immigration matters, including
permanent residence cases and nonimmigrant visa petitions for H-1B specialty
occupations, L-1 intracompany transferees, trainees, and individuals of
extraordinary ability. |
Prior to starting her own law practice, Nancy served as an associate
attorney with one of the nation’s leading corporate immigration law firms in
San Francisco handling employment-based immigration matters, mostly for
mid-size and large corporations. Nancy's previous experience also includes
an attorney position with Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen and Loewy (the world’s
largest global immigration law firm) as well as at a boutique Sacramento law
firm where she co-managed their diverse caseload of immigration matters for
corporations, universities, non-profits, government entities, and individual
clients.
She is a member of the California State Bar and has been an active member of
the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) since 1998. A
contributing author to a number of AILA publications, she is published in
the Visa Processing Guide & Consular Posts Handbook (2005-2006 Edition) and
the Immigration & Nationality Law Handbook (2002-2003 Edition).
Nancy received her bachelor's degree from the University of California at
Los Angeles in 1991, and her law degree from McGeorge School of Law at the
University of the Pacific 1996. Prior to receiving her JD, she studied
coursework in law during two summers abroad, first at Oxford University's
Worcester College, and then at the National University of Singapore. Nancy
is fluent in Taiwanese and conversant in Mandarin Chinese.
